Student Journey has four departments within the Directorate (‘Academic Services’, ‘Customer Liaison’, ‘Library Services and Special’ and ‘Student Services’). This post is within Academic Services who own the student record lifecycle from cradle to grave. The department aims to create and maintain a high-quality, accurate set of information on each student that can be used to effectively manage their application, initial and subsequent enrolments, assessment outcomes, progression and conferral of awards throughout their studies.
ABOUT THE POST
The Student Systems and Returns team forms part of the Student Systems and Information Section within Academic Services. We are seeking to recruit an Assistant within the Student Systems and Returns team. Reporting to the Manager of the team you will contribute to the sustainability and growth of the University through ensuring that data is correctly and consistently recorded on the Student Records System (SITS) in order to provide accurate and timely reporting to external agencies.
Additionally you will support the team in the preparation and submission of student statistical returns to external bodies. You will also assist in the maintenance of the student record system and ensure that accurate course and module based information is held on SITS.
You will also contribute to the positive experience and successful outcomes for students by providing support and guidance to staff on the use of SITS in respect of the Student Journey.
You should have excellent IT and analytical skills, proficient in entering and maintaining data with an eye for detail and accuracy. Additionally you should be highly organised, have an understanding of the HE environment and a ‘can do’ attitude.
