Part Time : 7.3 hours per week (20%  FTE) and 14.6 hours per week (40%  FTE)

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £43,884 – £51,769 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. 

The Early Years Initial Teacher Training Programme (EYITT) at the UCL Institute of Education prepares specialist graduates to teach throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS, 0-5yrs). Students complete three modules, during the 1-year programme, and successful graduates are awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS).

Throughout the programme, students develop their understanding of EYFS practice and demonstrate their teaching competence against the Early Years Teachers’ Standards. Our students are supported to become reflective teachers and are, subsequently, highly valued by the sector. 

The Department of Learning and Leadership is inviting applications from motivated Early Years specialists to work on the Early Years Initial Teacher Training (EYITT) Programme. We are seeking to appoint two part time Senior Teaching Fellows to undertake teaching and supervision activity and to assist with supporting student teachers on the EYITT PGCE programme. The work will entail preparation and delivery of taught sessions at the IOE, as well as visiting student teachers in their placement settings, observing their practice and providing feedback to support their progression. The role will also entail liaising with setting-based mentors and completing programme documentation. The post will require travel to EYFS settings across Greater London.

The posts are available from 01 September 2018 and is funded until 31 August 2019 in the first instance. 

A Master’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status is essential. The successful candidates will have experience of supporting student teachers at postgraduate level and experience of working with EYFS Settings providing education and care for children across the 0-5 age range.
