The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8.

We are looking for a senior researcher with an excellent track record and experience in immunology research. The postholder will be required to conduct and lead research in the area of immunology of autoimmune disease, with focus on adolescent rheumatological diseases. The successful candidate will be expected to initiate, develop, design and be responsible for the delivery of high quality research in field of adolescent rheumatology. The position offers an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant multidisciplinary research team to investigate influences of puberty on immune cell function in human health and autoimmunity. The post holder will be based within the UCL Division of Medicine, but will work closely with research and clinical teams in the Arthritis Research UK Centre for Adolescent Rheumatology at UCL, UCLH and GOSH (Centre for Adolescent Rheumatology).

The successful candidate will be expected to drive his/her own research in an area of direct relevance to the Centre for Adolescent Rheumatology, and also to support more junior investigators and students, in their planning, strategy and analysis of research results.

The post will be funded for 4 years in the first instance.

The post holder will be strongly encouraged to develop their own ideas and research projects within areas of strategic importance. We are keen to attract candidates with an excellent research track record, experience in immunology research and a clear commitment to the clinical translation of their work for the benefit of patients.

Candidates with a proven track record in developing/leading projects, publishing, attracting grant funding and supervising/ training students are encouraged to apply. We would expect no more than 25% of the candidate’s time to be spent on training and support with 75% dedicated to research.
