This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of 13 in the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre in the Directorate of Student Achievement at Kingston University. Using high impact pedagogic strategies and facilitative practices you will enable staff from across the University to improve their academic practice. You will do this by making significant contributions to the design delivery and evaluation of relevant and effective academic staff development opportunities; including our Introduction to Learning and Teaching programmes which are aligned to institutional priorities. You will be expected to develop appropriate and high quality academic development resources through multimedia channels to enable academic and professional staff to improve the student experience. You will also contribute to the mainstreaming of the Inclusive Curriculum Framework to meet the needs of our diverse student body. The role reports directly to the Head of Academic Staff Development.
You will be a motivated individual qualified to PhD level or equivalent. You will be an outstanding practitioner and scholar of excellence in learning and teaching in higher education. You will have an excellent record of delivering innovative and successful academic development opportunities as well having evidence of personal teaching excellence. You will have a good understanding of the diverse needs of students and how to address these to promote excellence in inclusive curriculum design and delivery. You will also be familiar with the UK Professional Standards Framework for Academic Practice have strong facilitation skills and the ability to collaborate with and influence staff at all levels. As a member of our effective team you will be self-motivated and have a proven track record of working independently and collaboratively and have the capacity to lead programmes of work. You will also have the ability to be flexible and work under pressure.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching and research. By the end of the probation period you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained).
For those new to teaching this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.
This is a full-time permanent role with a starting salary of £42331.
