The salary will be paid at Grade 8, £54,853 – £63,051 per annum, inclusive of £3,223 per annum London Allowance.

The Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care (FNFNMPC) traces its history back to the world’s first professional nurse training school, established by Florence Nightingale at St Thomas’ Hospital on the 9th July 1860.  In 2017 the Faculty was joined by the Cicely Saunders Institute of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation, the first purpose build palliative care institute in the world

The Faculty’s mission is to deliver excellence in education and research in nursing, midwifery and palliative care to a standard that benchmarks favourably with the very best faculties internationally, attracting staff and students of the highest calibre.

The Department of Adult Nursing has a team of around 70 academic staff who educate both pre- and post-registration nurses and contribute to the evidence base of professional nursing/health care through research. 

We are looking for a registered adult health nurse with an excellent reputation and experience in healthcare education plus leadership and management experience in adult nursing in the UK health service. The successful candidate will have a track record of publications and other outputs.  Responsibilities of the post-holder will focus on delivery of education and education-related scholarship and leadership in education. They will be expected to promote active engagement of staff in research and collaborations across the King’s faculties and NHS partners, and act as a role-model and mentor to colleagues.

Appointed on an Academic Education Pathway contract the post holder will be expected to coordinate and contribute significantly to the overall education programme for students at undergraduate and postgraduate level and participate in other teaching activities within the Faculty.

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.

This is a full-time post – 100% full time equivalent

The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview.
