Genetics and Genomic Medicine

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 5. The salary range will be £24,506 – £27,863 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The post holder will work with Dr Wendy Heywood, Dr Philippa Mills and Dr Kevin Mills at the Biological Mass Spectrometry Centre at ICH. The role of the post holder will be the running of routine analysis of proteomics and metabolomic samples, support the research projects currently undertaken in our mass spectrometry laboratories, maintaining mass spectral equipment, and supervision and teaching of undergraduates. Expertise in mass spectrometry, UPLC and proteomics is desirable.

Applicants must have a BSc in Biomedical Sciences and experience in mass spectral techniques.

Applicants need to demonstrate a high level of technical ability to maintain the running of state of the art mass spectrometers, the ability to work as part of a team and with minimum supervision, the ability to communicate clearly with research/industrial collaborators to discuss their results and an ability to work to a high level of good laboratory practice as required by NHS laboratories.

This post will be funded for 12 months in the first instance.
