The Statistics section seeks applications for the position of Research Associate with teaching duties, to start no later (1 June 2017). The post holders will conduct research under the supervision of Dr Heather Battey. The post includes teaching duties at undergraduate and MSc level.

Candidates will have a PhD in Statistics, Mathematics or a closely related discipline, and will have research interests in a relevant area of statistical science. Candidates must be able to demonstrate potential as both an independent researcher and as an undergraduate lecturer.
The successful candidate will have a specialist knowledge of statistics, particularly in Theoretical and high-dimensional physics in order to collaborate with Dr Heather Battey. They will have a good publication record and recent experience of lecturing or tutoring in Statistics, and will have the ability to demonstrate the potential to teach university level Statistics effectively and enthusiastically at an introductory undergraduate level. The successful candidate will have experience of promoting effective learning and interaction with students, a demonstrable track record in statistics and clear evidence of outstanding promise and originality in research.
