The aim of this project is to develop the infrastructure for collecting clinical data, standardising clinical outcome measure assessments and identifying biomarkers of disease activity in children with localised scleroderma (LS). A number of techniques will be used such as processing serum and plasma samples, ELISA, extracting peripheral blood mononuclear cells and skin fibroblasts, tissue culture, immunoblotting and flow cytometry. This post will be ideally suited to post-doctoral scientists with experience in cell culture and molecular biology (e.g. PCR). The post holder will be also expected to have experience in other laboratory techniques such as ELISAs, immunoblotting and flow cytometry. They will work with other lab members and contribute to the overall running of the lab.

This position is available for 24 months in the first instance.

Applicants should have a PhD and have experience in molecular biology (e.g. PCR), cell culture and other laboratory techniques (ELISA, flow cytometry).

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,635  per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
