Location: Charing Cross Campus

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to assist with the provision of high quality services to meet the learning, teaching and research needs of the Faculty of Medicine and other users of the library service. You will be based in the Charing Cross Library, but will be required to work at other campuses as necessary.

You will carry out a range of duties, but will primarily be responsible for delivering library services to NHS staff. This will include promotion of the library service, providing an information service and running information skills training programmes as well as assisting in the development and selection of the nursing and allied health collection of books, journals and other media. You will provide cover for senior library staff and other colleagues in their absence and assist with the training and supervision of library assistants and casual staff, as appropriate. General duties will include covering service points, dealing with enquiries, collection of statistics, shelving and general clerical tasks.

You will be educated to at least ‘A’ level standard, and will preferably hold a relevant professional or vocational qualification. You will have experience in an appropriate library or service environment and have a strong commitment to delivering services which are responsive to user needs.

The College cannot normally apply for a Certificate of Sponsorship for this post under Tier 2 of the UKVI’s Points Based System.
