The Publications team plays a vital role in this with responsibility for editing, setting and project-managing the production of a wide range of study materials across a number of platforms.
The Publications Team
The Publications team has continued to drive forward new and existing programme development work. The team’s role varies considerably from programme to programme, but for most we edit, design and typeset subject guides, epubs, produce online programmes, and other learning resources across a range of platforms and student devices.
As an Editor, you will be responsible for engaging in general editorial and instructional design work in relation to the preparation of learning materials, epubs, readings, handbooks, examiners’ commentaries and other study and promotional material as appropriate.
You will work with colleagues, instructional designers and academic authors to develop technology enhanced learning activities and material aimed at delivering greater understanding and enhancing engagement.
Furthermore, you will be involved in editing a variety of online content and ensuring that new content meets editorial guidelines in line with digital strategy. You will also have responsibility for editing and proof-reading learning materials in order to clarify authors’ intentions and will maintain standards and oversee the quality of a range of publications by adhering to house style and departmental procedures.
We’re seeking a highly advanced communicator with strong analytical and evaluative skills as well as a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of editorial practices including copy-editing and proof-reading. Your experience will include working in an editorial or publications environment as well as experience of working with authors, freelance editors and project management.
