The Director of Research Strategy Delivery will take a leading role in delivering the cross-University Research Strategy, and in coordinating with Faculty-based strategies to produce coherent actions. He/she will actively engage with related strategic activities across the university, for example King’s Strategic Vision 2029 and new fundraising campaigns, ensuring that synergies are exploited. Close engagement with the senior leadership team will be required.

In particular, the Director will lead on the delivery of King’s Together, our ambitious programme to enhance multidisciplinary research across the university, and on a range of programmes to increase support for academic staff. He/she will provide research input and/or leadership on a variety of cross-institutional partnerships, including across King’s Health Partners, our Academic Health Sciences Centre. The post holder will play a key role in the development of an eResearch function at King’s and will participate in the eResearch Advisory group.  The Director will also lead on process improvement and implementation of new IT systems for pre-award functions.

This is a senior position and we are looking for an excellent candidate. The successful candidate will have a background in academic research, including a PhD, followed by extensive experience in research strategy or management, possibly in the university or research funder setting. Excellent project management skills and a focus on delivery will be essential.

This will be an indefinite contract.

The salary will be paid at Grade ALC6, £65,000 per annum, including £2,623 per annum London Allowance.
