Salary is Competitive but not less than £45,285 p.a. inclusive

This is a full-time role on a one year fixed-term contract though a 4-day week may be considered in exceptional circumstances. Subject to review this role may possibly extend to a permanent position.

The Communications Division strategically coordinates internal, external and brand communications and advises the School on appropriate ways to communicate to its various audiences. The Communications teams work together to increase the impact of LSE and its work on the outside world, to the benefit of the whole LSE community. 

The successful candidate will work within the Corporate Marketing team and have significant experience as a Design Studio Manager, Art Director or Senior Graphic Designer with a proven track record of leading a design team and managing budgets.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management and day to day running of the Design Unit and providing art direction, account management and quality assurance. You will also be required to do some design work (less than 50%). You will work closely with staff to plan resources to ensure projects are high quality, on brand, delivered on time and on budget. You will also be responsible for account management of clients from brief to delivery and will feel comfortable giving brand advice and being a brand guardian.  The post-holder will also oversee the LSE photography unit and provide regular KPI reports for both units.

The ideal candidate will have strong project management and art direction skills with excellent Apple Mac skills including use of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator CC. You will be confident with excellent communication and inter-personal skills with previous experience of team and client account management.
