The City Law School is the first in London and the only in the University of London to educate students and practitioners at all stages of legal education. It has a research pedigree dating back over 100 years. The School made significant advances in research and education as City implemented its Strategic Plan 2012 to 2016. It now seeks to build upon that success to become one of the United Kingdom’s leading law schools. This ambition will be enabled by a new organisational structure which will ensure the School has the agility to take advantage of a new regulatory landscape for legal education. The School offers a complete portfolio of legal education and training, from undergraduate to postgraduate, including the Bar Professional Training Course and the Legal Practice Course; and post-qualification Continuing Professional Development.

The Dean’s Office is the central administrative office for the Law school, supporting senior academics and acting as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
This is a new post with a varied and diverse range of responsibilities providing high level PA and administrative support to the School’s Chief Operations Officer and Associate Deans, and Dean (where required). The post holder will work closely with the PA to the Dean to provide efficient and effective support on a wide range of strategic school projects and day-to-day operations, with particular focus on Health & Safety and Facilities duties.

The School is entering a period of change, including an office building move, and is a real opportunity to get involved during an exciting and dynamic time for the School.

Person Specification
The successful candidate will have excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure using judgement and initiative. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as is strong IT proficiency across Microsoft Office Suite applications and SharePoint.

The nature of the role also requires an individual with good interpersonal skills, who is able to work successfully in a team and communicate with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. You will need to have a flexible and positive attitude and be keen to learn in order to be successful.
