The Joint Research Office works to serve the research community across the Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC). Organised into specialist teams, JRO staff facilitate the management of research grants and contracts in the Faculty of Medicine. The JRO Contracts Team provides advice on all matters relating to terms and conditions of externally funded research projects and related agreements.
You will assist the Head of Contracts in the implementation and maintenance of an effective and efficient support service for the management of research contracts for academic and administrative staff in the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College.
You will be responsible for negotiation of commercial and non-commercial research funding agreements and research related agreements for their specific customer department(s). You must be a proven supervisor with good knowledge of the contractual landscape for research in the higher education environment. You must be operationally skilled with the ability to distribute and prioritise effectively and form working relationships with staff at all levels in the organisation.
You will have a proven track record in all areas relating to the negotiation and drafting of contracts in a higher education sector or similar context. You will be familiar with the subtleties required in negotiating best contractual terms and price with other cultures and in various scenarios. You will be a team player with an ability to work under own initiative and with strong negotiation, organisational and personal time management abilities. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to express complex ideas with clarity
