Location: City and Guilds Building, South Kensington Campus, London
This new role has been created to support and enhance the wide-ranging activities in the Department of Aeronautics. The Department currently has over 670 students and approximately 140 members of staff and so strong communication both internally and externally in this busy and vibrant department is essential. As the Department of Aeronautics celebrates its 100th anniversary of teaching and the calendar of events continues to expand, this is an exciting time to be joining the Department.
Duties and responsibilities:
You will manage and develop the Departmental website and new digital media and assist academics and senior management to engage with the website and social media channels. You will help to develop strategies for internal communications including the publication of research funding opportunities and use your knowledge and experience to share and promote best-practice across the Department.
You will be responsible for the planning and execution of the Department’s participation in high-profile events as well as taking a leading role in coordinating and managing events designed to promote the Department and its teaching and research activities to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of writing content for different audiences and across a variety of media channels.
- Experience of developing and maintaining websites
- Experience of planning and managing events
- Experience of using web analytics tools and of producing reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc… to a high level as well as having the technical proficiency to pick up new IT packages quickly
- The successful candidate should have a degree, or equivalent, ideally in English or Communications, or equivalent experience.
