Salary: Appointment will be made on the 1st point on the Teaching Fellow Merged salary scale (€33,540) in line with Government Pay Policy

Hours of Work: Hours of work for academic staff are those as prescribed under Public Service Agreements.

Post Summary

Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, invites applications for a 1 Year Fixed-Term Specific Purpose Contract Teaching Fellowship in the Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy.

The successful candidate, who will have a PhD in Sociology or a cognate discipline, will contribute to the teaching programmes (both undergraduate and postgraduate) of the Department. They will also have experience of teaching and student supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The ability to teach modules in qualitative methods at both undergraduate and postgraduate level is highly desirable. Those with expertise and a teaching record in the fields of globalisation and development, social movements and/or theory and studies in social conflict and resistance are particularly invited to apply. Most of all, the Department is seeking an individual with vision and enthusiasm, a genuine commitment to the vital role of teaching, including a flair for innovation in course design and teaching methods.
