School of Business
Senior Lecturer in Management & Government Information Systems (Permanent)
We are actively recruiting a new Senior Lecturer in the area of Management Information Systems, with specialist knowledge in the area of Government Information Systems, in addition to a capacity to teach, research and play a leadership role in the wider field of Management Information Systems.
Teaching in the MIS area covers a wide range of modules, which can be seen on our website under each of our programmes (https://www.maynoothuniversity.ie/school-business/our-courses). Teaching needs currently include undergraduate and postgraduate MIS modules. We are currently developing a portfolio of MIS and Analytics postgraduate and executive education programmes, which the Senior Lecturer would be expected to play a role in the development and operation of. Faculty teaching assignments may vary depending on the needs of the School of Business. The Senior Lecturer will be expected to undertake their own teaching and research, in addition to providing support for development of the wider MIS domain and the School of Business as a whole. The Senior Lecturer would also be expected to work on the development of externally funded research projects, and to compliment the work of existing researchers within the School of Business, including the Technology Adoption group (Technology Adoption Group, Maynooth University (https://tag.ivi.ie/).
The successful applicant(s) will have a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to career expectations of a Senior Lecturer. As such they will have a proven capability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, publish in leading international peer reviewed journals (including at least five papers on the Chartered Association of Business Schools Academic Journal Guide rank 3 or higher), and experience raising external research funds and management of researchers.
She/he will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the School and undertake teaching duties on the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (including development of new postgraduate programmes in the MIS, Government Tech and/or Analytics fields) as well as the supervision of Master’s and PhD students. The appointee(s) will be expected to build a strong research profile that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes (especially the Technology Adoption centre and its affiliates), where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance, generate publications of international standard and contribute to the external research funding capacity of the School of Business.
