The Centre for Experimental Medicine is an interdisciplinary research centre which is committed to the highest quality scientific endeavour, with over 250 basic and clinical scientists working on site. Our mission is to understand the mechanisms of disease and use that understanding to develop innovative new treatments and therapies to improve patient outcomes. 

We are recruiting for a Research Fellow who will be an active member of a research team assisting with an MRC funded Stratified Medicines programme – the UK Refractory Asthma Stratification programme (RASP-UK). You will join a multidisciplinary team with the goal of conducting clinical trial bio-statistical analysis including day-to-day management of a large multicentre clinical trial database, interim analysis and reporting of safety and outcome data to Investigator team and Trial Steering Committee. You will also be responsible for computational, hypothesis-driven applied clinical research in respiratory disease using large existing clinical datasets.

This post is full time and available until 9 October 2020 with possibility of extension.

The University wish to appoint at Research Fellow level but will also consider Research Assistant. 

The successful Research Fellow must:

  • Have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics or a related area.
  • Proven recent, relevant research experience.

The Research Assistant must have:

  • Honours degree or equivalent in statistics or other relevant discipline
  • Recent relevant experience in management and biostatistical analysis of large clinical datasets

Salary Research Fellow: £33,199 per annum, Research Assistant: £27,831 to £32,236
