The School of Pharmacy is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow who will contribute to a NIHR Programme Grant for Applied Research which will determine the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of pharmacist independent prescribing in care homes. The programme of research will be conducted in four sites: Norwich, Bradford, Aberdeen and Belfast. The appointed Fellow will have responsibility for the work to be undertaken in Belfast which will consist of identification of outcome measures for a future trial, interviews/focus groups with a variety of key stakeholders, recruitment of participants and sites, feasibility testing of a training package proposed and intervention, and testing of the intervention in a pilot cluster randomised controlled study. The post is available from October/November 2017 for a period of 12 months in the first instance (with the possibility of extension).
