The School of Pharmacy at Queen’s has been ranked 2nd in the UK for Pharmacy and Pharmacology according to the Guardian University Guide 2018.
The Research Fellow will contribute to the on-going research programmes in naturally-occurring bioactive peptides with special emphasis on their identification and pharmacological characterisation at both macro and molecular levels. This post is available until October 2020.

The successful candidate will have:
- An Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant pharmaceutical, biological, or chemical discipline.
- A PhD (or be about to obtain) in a molecular-based life sciences discipline.
- Current experience of molecular identification and pharmacological techniques applied to the characterisation of naturally-occurring, biologically active peptides. Relevant techniques include cloning genes for peptide precursors and/or receptor targets, interrogation of gene and protein databases, mass spectrometry to monitor peptide catabolism, peptide synthesis, and smooth muscle bioassays.

Salary scale: £33,199 – £39,610 per annum (potential to progress to £43,266 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution).
