Its Medical School has a broad tradition of leadership in Irish Healthcare and is responsible for the education and training of over 1,600 medical, biomedical and radiography undergraduate students and over 500 masters and doctoral students annually.
The University and its affiliated teaching hospital, the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital seek to build expertise in clinical pathology to provide the best possible patient care and exploit existing strengths in translational and biomedical research. As a key constituent of the Ireland East Hospital Group, our Pathology community provides haematology, microbiology, chemical pathology, histopathology and molecular diagnostics to a catchment population of almost one million people.
University College Dublin and the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital seek to appoint a Professor of Clinical Pathology. This is a permanent senior leadership role with substantial clinical and academic commitments. Through this appointment, we hope to strengthen existing clinical diagnostic expertise and pathology research activity to further develop the Ireland East Hospital Group as a leading international centre of healthcare excellence.
