UCC wishes to appoint an enthusiastic innovative Lecturer to the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. The successful candidate will have a professional (clinical) qualification in occupational therapy from a WFOT approved programme, the ability to register with CORU and a PhD or equivalent degree. Applicants without a PhD level qualification must be prepared to commit to registering for a PhD degree following appointment.

The successful candidate will have experience in working with older adults with physical disabilities demonstrating an occupational based and hospital and community rehabilitative approach to practice.

The appointee will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum content addressing occupational-based practice, in the undergraduate programme, research and theory in the post graduate programmes, actively conducting research in an area that furthers occupational science and/or occupation-based practice leading to grant acquisition; supervising student research across all degrees, and participating on department, college and university committees.

The Department of Occupational science and Occupational Therapy is located within the School of Clinical Therapies. Over the past 12 years, the School has developed a range of clinical healthcare programmes at both undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. In addition, the School has a strong commitment to research and growing suite of continuing professional development modules supporting life-long learning.

Appointment may be made on the Lectureship Salary Scale: €33,481 – €59,132/€64,627 – €83,096 Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
