Applications are invited for the above fixed term whole-time (5 years) Lectureship post in the Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences, School of Clinical Therapies.
The School of Clinical Therapies wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Audiology, to support the newly developed MSc in Hearing, Balance and Communication. This new degree programme is an exciting development and expansion of the portfolio of degrees offered in the School of Clinical Therapies. It is unique in that it bridges disciplinary gaps between hearing, balance and communication sciences, and emphasizes communication ability across the lifespan as a central and guiding principle. The degree will run on a modular form over two years, and will include units related to principles of Balance Assessment and Rehabilitation, Communication and Hearing across the life span, Hearing, Balance and Communication in the elderly, Tinnitus and Hyperacusis, Cochlear Implants and other areas. The holder of the post will have direct responsibility towards the development of the curriculum related to different units, teaching, student supervision and administrative support, as well as contributing to the teaching and administration of the MSc clinical Audiology at UCC
The successful candidate will have an MSc qualification (or equivalent Master’s level qualification) in Audiology or Hearing Sciences
Applicants without a doctorate level qualification must be prepared to commit to registering for a doctorate degree following appointment. As well as having experience in clinical and classroom teaching and learning, the appointee will be expected to be research active, supervise student research and participate on department and college committees. Reporting to the Head of Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences, applicants will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching, curriculum development and research in Audiology.

Appointment may be made on the Lectureship Salary Scale: €33,481 – €59,132. Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
