Job offer in Ireland Lecturer below the Bar in Pharmacology and Therapeutics at National University of Ireland, Galway

Applications are invited for the above post, Lecturer below the Bar in Pharmacology and Therapeutics which is available from October 2019. The discipline of Pharmacology and Therapeutics has developed a range of educational programmes at undergraduate level for Science, Medicine and other health-related areas, as well as delivering taught M.Sc. programmes in Neuropharmacology and Toxicology and providing postgraduate research training at M.Sc. and PhD levels.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to these educational programmes whilst also conducting extramurally funded research that is complementary to that of the existing academic staff within the discipline of Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be located in the recently opened Human Biology Building that provides excellent research and teaching facilities in a dynamic, collaborative research-intensive environment. The successful candidate will be expected to have a PhD in Pharmacology or related discipline, an excellent track record in research (as evidenced by high quality publications and success in securing independent research funding) and experience of teaching Pharmacology at 3rd level. A postgraduate teaching qualification would be desirable.

At Lecturer below the Bar level

€37,979 p.a. to €58,944 p.a.

(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer (Below the Bar) scale in line with current Government pay policy)

(For pre 1995 public sector entrants in Ireland, the D class Salary rates will apply)
