Job offer in Ireland Lecturer B Above the Bar in Nursing at MediaVest
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Lecturer B Above the Bar in Nursing. The successful candidate must be a Registered Public Health Nurse, a Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be eligible for registration, and have proven, relevant public health nursing experience. The candidate will ideally have experience of teaching and assessing clinical skills, experience of curriculum development or other relevant experience, have project management or equivalent experience, good IT skills, evidence of research activity and publication and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will be required to engage in teaching and assessment activities in general but with a particular emphasis on public health nursing. They will be required to teach a wide range of clinical and communication skills to students, using a range of strategies, for example, demonstration repeat demonstration, simulators (low and high fidelity) and simulated patients. They will contribute to the development of skills focused curriculum content, learning resources and competency assessment tools. Examples of the latter could include handouts, videos or other interactive materials. They will have responsibility for assessing and managing the assessment of students’ clinical competency in skill laboratories using, for example, OSCE. The successful candidate will take responsibility for ensuring teaching and assessment is of high quality and evidence based across programmes. This includes providing training and support to academic staff if required. They are expected to engage in relevant research and other forms of scholarly activity, including publication in peer reviewed journals.

Salary: At Lecturer Above the Bar €64,327 – €83,068 per annum.
(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer Above the Bar scale in line with current Government pay policy)
