Applications are invited for a Permanent post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Italian Studies within UCD School of Languages, Cultures & Linguistics.
Candidates must have a PhD in Italian Studies and a specialization in the area of the Renaissance or the early modern period. They must have an excellent track record in research commensurate with their career stage. They will have native or near-native competence in Italian and proven experience in and commitment to the teaching of the Italian language in a university setting. As the post is within the multi-lingual, interdisciplinary School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics and the candidate will be involved in cross-School teaching, some knowledge of one of the other modern foreign languages taught in the School is desirable.
The successful candidate will complement the existing team of lecturing staff who have specialisms in literary and cultural studies, linguistics, and film studies. Italian Studies at UCD is committed to delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across a broad curriculum and we particularly welcome applicants who demonstrate the ability to deliver innovative, engaging teaching. A university teaching qualification, or demonstrable engagement with continuous professional development in pedagogy and pedagogic innovation, is desirable.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
