Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Student Services will be a senior member of the Corporate Services Division team and will be responsible for the proactive and innovative operation of the Services’ function (Health Centre, Disability, Student Counselling Service, Trinity Sport, Day Nursery and Academic Registry) as a whole, contributing to a successful student experience within the student life cycle, and staff services where appropriate.

Together with the Dean of Students, the focus of the role is to ensure the quality of student life including the recruitment, engagement, participation and development of students through services, structures, practices and values. With the Dean of Students, the person will lead and provide expert advice. Ideally the post-holder will be familiar with legislative change as well as services’ practices and operations across the university sector to ensure that the University implements best practice at all times.

Given the nature of the role, the individual should have strong operational and project management skills, and a strong customer focus to ensure the provision of a consistently high-quality service. In addition, an academic background and commercial acumen would be an advantage. Together with a high level of political judgement, the successful candidate will have strong negotiation and influencing skills and a proven ability to build consensus in order to achieve successful outcomes.
