QUB is an exciting place to study medicine with our students experiencing clinical practice in a variety of hospitals, general practices and healthcare settings throughout Northern Ireland from first year onwards.

The School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences and Centre for Medical Education has close bonds with the Northern Ireland community as part of its educational, research and outreach programmes. Our ‘Patients as Partners’ make a valuable contribution to the education of medical students, through their participation in the selection of medical students to the programme, teaching sessions, as well as assessments.

The Curriculum Project Manager will provide specialist project management to the Curriculum Review Executive Group (CREG) and Curriculum Review Operational Group for the development and implementation of the new 5-year undergraduate medical curriculum. The post holder will manage multiple project streams and will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders including key personnel in the relevant Health Trusts and other external bodies. It is currently envisaged that there will be a phased roll-out of the new curriculum year on year beginning with first year in September 2020. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed plans and communication to ensure that all milestones are met, that relevant course materials and information is available for students and staff and that students and clinicians are supported through the changes to the curriculum.

The successful Curriculum Project Manager will have:

  • A University Degree or equivalent OR at least 5 years relevant Project Management experience and a professional project management qualification at practitioner level.
  • At least three years’ relevant experience in a Project or Programme Manager/Coordinator role within the higher education sector
