Job offer in Ireland Contract Technician – GreenBreed at The Agriculture and Food Development Authority
Technician Grade 1, with a starting salary of €29,075 per annum. The current salary scale is €29,075 to €39,145.
Starting pay will be at the minimum of the scale per Government Circular E100/8/82. Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current or previous service in the public sector (including Teagasc).
Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy.
Temporary Externally Funded Non Grant-in-Aid contract post, the indicative duration of which is 30 months, subject to contract.
A panel may be formed from which future similar vacancies may be filled; such a panel will remain active for a maximum period of 12 months.
Teagasc is seeking to recruit a motivated and skilled contract technician to work on an externally funded project, which aims to develop breeding programs for low environmental footprint in cattle and sheep. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for the collection of field experimental data from sheep flocks. The successful candidate will be responsible for collection of measurements including sheep live weight, feed intake and gaseous emissions.
Note: The ‘Essential’ qualifications, skills and knowledge outlined below are ‘must-have’ which will be used in the shortlisting process.
- Candidates must have a Level 6 Specific Purpose in Farm Administration and/or a Level 6 Advanced Cert in Agriculture or a related discipline.
- A Level 7 qualification in Agriculture or a related discipline would be a distinct advantage.
