Job offer in Ireland Contract Research Officer – BIO-OPS (Externally Funded Non Grant-in-Aid) at The Agriculture and Food Development Authority
Location: Teagasc Food Research Centre, Ashtown, Dublin 15.
Research Officer, with a starting salary of €31,729 per annum. The current salary scale is €31,729 to €62,700.
Starting pay will be at the minimum of the scale per Government Circular E100/8/82. Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current or previous service in the public sector (including Teagasc).
Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy.
Temporary Externally Funded Non Grant-in-Aid contract post, the indicative duration of which is 10 months, subject to contract.
A panel may be formed from which future similar vacancies may be filled; such a panel will remain active for a maximum period of 12 months.
The successful candidate will be engaged in a strategic research study as part of the ‘Recovery of Value’ research programme within the Teagasc Research Directorate and aligned with the needs of national stakeholders. Through exploration of market opportunities and direct engagement with meat companies, regulatory bodies, product suppliers etc., the candidate will help to bring existing research to commercialisation. The candidate will conduct literature searches, executive interviews, prepare reports and organise and attend relevant conferences and workshops. Given the export focus of the Irish beef industry, he/she will have an opportunity to develop relationships with international as well as national bodies, and contribute to successful technology transfer to the meat sector.
Note: The ‘Essential’ qualifications, skills and knowledge outlined below are ‘must-have’ which will be used in the shortlisting process.
Candidates must have a QQI Honours Level 8 degree in Marketing, Business, Agri-food Business or a related discipline.
- Experience in Marketing, Business, or Agri-food Business would be a distinct advantage.
