Job offer in Ireland Contract Database Technician – SMARTCOW Project at The Agriculture and Food Development Authority
Technician Grade 1, with a starting salary of €29,075 per annum. The current salary scale is €29,075 to €39,145.
Starting pay will be at the minimum of the scale per Government Circular E100/8/82. Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current or previous service in the public sector (including Teagasc).
Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy.
Temporary Externally Funded Non Grant-in-Aid contract post, the indicative duration of which is 30 months, subject to contract.
A panel may be formed from which future similar vacancies may be filled; such a panel will remain active for a maximum period of 12 months.
The person appointed to this position will have a key role in assisting researchers with the compilation of animal data within the animal and grassland research programme at Moorepark. The successful candidate should be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a variety of capacities including experimental grassland and grazing management and recording measurements. The appointed person will work on the European Funded SMARTCOW project (Horizon 2020 funded).
Note: The ‘Essential’ qualifications, skills and knowledge outlined below are ‘must-have’ which will be used in the shortlisting process.
- Candidates must have a Level 7 in computer science, data management or a related discipline.
- Research experience in Animal Science.
