Salary: Appointment will be made on the Lecturer Merged Salary Scale at a point in line with Government Pay Policy (€34,214 to €83,102 per annum). Appointment will be made no higher than point 8, i.e. €48,572

Post Summary

The Department of Political Science, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Political Science, to commence on 1st August 2019.

The School wishes to make an appointment in the area of Quantitative Political Methodology. The position is open with respect to sub-field specialization in political science (e.g. Comparative Politics, International Relations, American Politics), but preference will be given to scholars with research interests in causal inference. The preferred candidate must be able to teach PhD level courses in the following areas: causal inference, experimental methods, and quasi-experimental approaches to observational data. We also welcome applications from scholars whose work leverages Bayesian statistics, machine learning, and/or is generally situated within the field of computational social science.
