1.0 FTE during the University academic year (37 hours per week, mid Sept – end June annually) 

We are seeking to recruit an accredited therapist (BACP, UKCP, BCP, BPS or equivalent) to join an established counselling team working with students and staff with complex and wide ranging issues.

You will carry a caseload of individual clients, provide Counselling Drop-in sessions and contribute to on-going service development and provision.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy (min. Diploma level 5) and substantial post qualification experience (min 600 hours). This must include significant experience of working within a brief time-limited counselling framework, and proven ability to manage risk.

Experience and understanding of issues within the HE sector and their impact on counselling in a University setting is desirable. Team work is highly valued and you will demonstrate an understanding of a range of clinical perspectives, the ability to value and work alongside a variety of therapeutic approaches and be an effective team player.

This is a permanent position to support the service during the busiest times of the year (42 weeks per year from mid-September through to the end of June each academic year).  The hours will include Christmas and Easter student holidays but the role holder will be able to take some annual leave during those times as normal.  Job shares would be considered for this post.
