The Cambridge Development and Alumni Relations (CUDAR) office seeks an ambitious major gifts fundraiser who possesses the ability to help develop long-term holistic partnerships with high-level donors aiming to secure financial support from individual and institutional funders across the UK. 

The Development Associate is a member of the Major Gifts fundraising team contributing to the design and execution of the Regional Programmes, University-Wide fundraising strategy. 

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Regional Programmes, and working closely with the broader Major Gifts team, you will generate six- and seven-figure gifts from individuals, trusts and foundations, and/or corporations across the UK. You will manage a complex prospect pool prospects, and will therefore work directly with some of the University’s most capable donors and volunteers. 

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in major gift fundraising and/or management of key relationships with donors. A strategic thinker, you will be capable of building strong relationships with high-value potential partners and senior academic stakeholders. You should have outstanding communication and social skills, and an ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas to variety of audiences. A creative and collaborative approach will be critical, as will be a passion for the research and educational mission of the University of Cambridge.

This role requires working outside of regular office hours, and frequent UK as well as occasional overseas travel.

This role is being advertised as a maternity cover for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is sooner.
