About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Bath Spa University’s initial teacher training partnership with Teach First. The role will involve devising and delivering high quality Mathematical subject knowledge and pedagogy input, as well as visiting TF participants in school and providing ongoing support and development across the two years of the PGDE programme. The impact of this support is to develop participants into outstanding Maths teachers. The post will also require you to work effectively alongside BSU team members as well as Teach First colleagues and school leaders to provide comprehensive and coherent support for the participants.

The role will involve setting and marking masters level assignments and a continued commitment to scholarly activity and research.

About you (requirements)

We are looking for an individual who is a Mathematics Secondary Specialist, has proven teaching excellence and experience in supporting the development of trainees or recently qualified teachers. You should have experience of leading continued professional development activity, with a good knowledge of pedagogy and academic practices. We are looking for a strong communicator who is able to work flexibly across partnerships and with a wide variety of individuals. This may be working at a local level or with partner universities at a national level.

You should be postgraduate educated, have a doctoral qualification or have a commitment to pursuing doctoral study
