Student and Academic Services are looking for an enthusiastic individual to lead the work of the Student Data and Systems (Fees and Student Finance Team) within our Student Money Service. You will proactively manage a small team with responsibilities for managing and maintain various data systems, providing support to students and a wide variety of services to stakeholders within and external to the university.
Interpreting policies and how that then drives Management Information and reporting; you will be focused on leading the team to become experts in this field through providing advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders and students. A mediator with an analytical mind set, you will have the ability to think laterally and provide solutions to conflicts between policy regulations and stakeholders.
Comfortable with working in a fast changing environment, you will oversee the delivery of a number of key business activities related to the collection and publication of university fee and funding information as well as leading on key data returns to the Student Loans company supporting the correct, timely and accurate collection of tuition fees for the university and release of student maintenance to our students.
You will be confident, taking ownership and accountability for the team’s day to day activities of the team. We require someone who is comfortable with challenging up and down and upholding the Universities policy position even when meeting resistance from external teams, Academics and staff, coaching and influencing them to adhere to regulatory requirements.
Ideally you will have previous knowledge and understanding of the broader context of UWE, the local region, and Higher Education Funding in the UK.
