Open University – Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies (WELS)

Homeworker (Based in the Yorkshire/Lancashire area)

Full Time – 37 hours per week

Fixed-term contract until 31 July 2019

This role is central to maintaining high quality services to students. You will be responsible for the management of Associate Lecturers, who support students on a range of qualifications including the Pre-Registration Nursing Programme and Foundation Degree in Healthcare Practice within the OU in the North of England and will be located in the Faculty’s team covering the Yorkshire and Lancashire areas.

You will need a good first degree (or equivalent), a professional qualification in nursing, experience in supporting practice learning, current NMC registration and an NMC recordable teaching qualification.

You will need to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of adult learners and have the ability to promote the Faculty’s modules, programmes and awards to individuals and corporate customers. You will also have good communication, team working and organisational skills, working with centrally based Academic staff on academic development. You will have a sound knowledge of current issues related to nurse education and experience in developing and maintaining local partnerships.

The contract for this job is a homeworking one, however attendance at meetings in Milton Keynes and wider travel across the whole of the North of England is an essential part of the role.
