eBIC (electron Bio-Imaging Centre) at Diamond Light Source provides scientists with state-of-the-art experimental equipment and expertise in the field of cryo-electron microscopy, for single particle analysis and cryo-tomography. Funded by the Wellcome Trust with the UK Medical Research and Biotechnology and Biology Research Councils, eBIC is a UK National Centre for cryo-electron microscopy in the life sciences and is currently the largest centre of its kind worldwide. We are seeking to recruit a Centre Coordinator to join the growing eBIC team. You will coordinates logistics and activities of centre with other projects, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications; assist Centre Director on organization, budgeting, and reporting centre activities and preparation of proposal for funding from outside sponsors. The post holder will also schedule facility and services for the user program and centre projects/events, produce documentation (e.g. manuals, webpages, social media) and help with manuscripts to support eBIC activities and research program, provide assistance and information to staff and outside organizations regarding centre service, research and projects; maintains contact via telephone or written correspondence.
You will have a degree in science with administrative/coordinate project experience and highly competent in written and verbal communications. It is preferable that you have appropriate experience in structural biology. Training will be provided where necessary.
