WMG, University of Warwick are recruiting a small team of researchers to work together to research the multidisciplinary requirements of establishing a circular economy for battery systems such as those being developed for electric vehicles and smart grid applications. The focus of the research is directly aligned with the challenge of preserving the value of products at end-of-life and keeping them in productive use for longer and will address the strategic need for accurate and easily obtained data for driving decisions for battery system recycling, remanufacturing and reuse. Collectively, the research will encompass the modelling of new supply chain and sustainability models to stimulate industrial interest in battery systems recycling, reuse and remanufacturing.

The successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to work across a number of research groups within WMG that collectively comprise energy materials, energy systems and sustainability research. The researcher will have full access to the extensive experimental facilities within the Energy Innovation Centre (EIC) and have the opportunity to work closely with a number of leading UK and international organisations and academic partners in collaborative research. Applicants must hold a Masters level qualification and will have undertaken complementary research as part your PhD/EngD study. If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,453 pa). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,301 pa).
