About the role:
The Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine and Social Care offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including doctoral level studies. Our provision includes undergraduate and postgraduate social work courses. Our dynamic approach ensures that our students receive a high quality, research-informed, educational experience.
We’re working in partnership with the Greater Cambridgeshire Teaching Partnership (GCTP) to develop a Centre of Excellence in Practice Learning. Teaching Partnerships is an approach where funding is provided to universities and councils to deliver gold-standard training for social workers, raising standards and supporting councils in recruiting and retaining the best social workers.
We’re seeking an experienced researcher with a background in social work practice education to work within the School of Education and Social Care, you’ll work closely with practice educators, students, academics and our partners in the Greater Cambridgeshire Teaching Partnership to undertake research in practice education. You’ll lead on the preparation of research proposals/applications/bids to external bodies and undertake innovative and creative research design using appropriate research methods.
With a degree in Social Work, HCPC registration and a PhD (or nearing completion or other postgraduate research qualification), you’ll have a good understanding of the current issues in social work education and practice.
