This full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis and a generous shift allowance is payable in addition to the full time salary.
The University’s department, Residential Services, provides accommodation for undergraduate and postgraduate students. There is an extensive portfolio of accommodation available to students on and off the main Streatham Campus and the Residence Reception areas are the first port of call for students living in our residential buildings. In addition to providing a first class service to our student customers our accommodation operates as a busy conference and bed and breakfast venue during the vacation periods.
We welcome applications, for this fantastic opportunity, from professional individuals who may already have experience in a similar environment or who are seeking to build their experience in the hospitality sector and enhance their supervisory skills to support the Reception and Administrative team.
The position involves working 36.5 hours a week including evenings and weekends. Normal working hours, during term time will be 8.00am-3.30pm or 12.30pm-8.30pm on a three week rotational basis (working one weekend in three). During the vacation periods working hours are slightly adapted to suit the business needs.
Being able to deal with a varied cross-section of customers is essential along with excellent people, communication, organisational and IT skills. A supportive, proactive approach with a desire to succeed is of equal importance.
You will be responsible for supervising a small team of full and part-time Residence Support Assistants and will help to ensure the effective delivery of a high class customer service and meeting the administration needs for the Residential Service team.
