University of Warwick – School of Modern Languages and Cultures

The School of Modern Languages and Cultures is seeking to appoint a Professor of Italian. The successful candidate will be an experienced academic with an outstanding research profile in any period or specialism within the field of Italian Studies.

S/he will possess a PhD or equivalent in Italian Studies or a closely allied field, native or near-native Italian language skills, and a nationally and internationally recognised profile of excellence in research. S/he will have a proven record in grant capture and a clearly formulated research plan which is mindful of impact. Other essential criteria include evidence of leadership roles in administration or research, the ability to deliver and innovate in undergraduate and graduate teaching as well as a track record of successful PhD supervision. The successful candidate will play a pro-active role in a collegial department and in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, and will demonstrate commitment to Italian Studies in a globally competitive field.
