Background

The Design and Production Unit is part of the Department of Marketing and provides graphic design, reprographics and print services to the University. The Unit is based in Rochester House, St George’s Road, Canterbury and on main campus, North Holmes Road.

The Role

We require a Production Coordinator who will be responsible for the timely delivery of an extensive programme of marketing campaigns, materials and publications, both online and in print. Implementing project management software (for which full training will be provided), you will compile production schedules and monitor the progress of design outputs, ensuring deadlines are met and production quality maintained.

You will manage the University’s Reprographics Unit, overseeing production processes, stock control and quality assurance. They will have day-to-day line management responsibility for the Unit’s technicians and the team’s administrator, ensuring that workloads are manageable and production schedules are met. They will be responsible for all aspects of line management, including one-to-one meetings, development and appraisal.

You will work on joint planning of key projects, and work closely with other units within the Department of Marketing to ensure it provides the University with a professional service in the development and delivery of marketing publications and online campaigns.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience of prioritising and scheduling multiple projects, ideally in a design studio environment. Line management experience is essential. They should have a working knowledge of industry standard design packages and expert knowledge of print management and procurement. The successful candidate will be a meticulous planner, with a professional, motivational attitude and a diplomatic, approachable style.
