We have an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral immunologist to join our Emerging Pathogens Vaccine Group in the Jenner Institute.
The primary focus will be for you to work as a member of the team testing new multivalent candidate vaccines against emerging pathogens with a particular emphasis on viral vectored vaccines. You will work under the direction of Dr Teresa Lambe, Professor Sarah Gilbert and Professor Adrian Hill.
A degree in a relevant biological or engineering subject is required. You should be experienced with rodent immunology and standard immunology techniques, e.g. ELISA, ELISpot and immunofluorescence.
You are self-motivated, with a responsible nature, technically competent and capable of working independently, methodologically and carefully in the laboratory. Ability to interpret scientific data, analyse and research complex issues and write factual reports are essential. Well-developed organisation and interpersonal skills are essential to manage multiple projects and to work effectively with others, whilst taking responsibility for own research, delegating as appropriate, and supporting less experienced members of the team. Excellent communication and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret scientific data, analyse and research complex issues, write factual reports, present data and research objectives are expected. Experience in pre-clinical vaccine development and evaluation, experience with the culture of microorganisms under category II conditions, as well as holding a UK PIL or equivalent are desirable. If you have the relevant experience and knowledge, we encourage you to apply.
You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement which should explain how you meet the selection criteria for the post.
Only applications received before 12.00 noon on 15 May 2017 will be considered.
