The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint an Office and Communication Manager. This pivotal position offers the opportunity to work at the centre of the Faculty of Classics, Humanities Division. Reporting to the Head of Administration and Finance, the Office and Communication Manager will have responsibility of ensuring the day to day operation of the Ioannou Centre for Classical and Byzantine Studies.
The post is responsible for managing front of house activities including reception, communications and event management. To this end the postholder will work closely with all members of the Administration team and Estates Services Facilities Management team. The postholder is line manager to the Facilities and Events Support Officer (FESO) and together they act as the first point of call for students, staff and visitors to the Ioannou Centre.
The Office and Communication Manager also acts as the Deputy Safety Officer and assists the HAF in ensuring that the Faculty comply with University Health and Safety regulations and that appropriate risk assessments are in place for work and study both, within the Centre and at other locations.
This is a part-time post, 30 hours per week (80%FTE)
