The University of Bath is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and experienced mental health professional with specific skills in cognitive Behavioural Therapy to work within the Counselling and Mental Health team, to contribute to the delivery of therapeutic services and the development of preventative and skills based programmes with a particular focus on resilience and emotional health and wellbeing.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a progressive and innovative Student Services team, to contribute to the strategic development and delivery of an integrated range of high quality, evidence-based services which are designed to ensure that all students have the opportunity to access and fully benefit from their academic and broader student experience, and participate in areas of research around service delivery and efficacy.
The role includes maintaining a clinical caseload, designing, implementing and delivering suitable therapeutic programmes to meet the needs of our student population. The role will involve liaison and consultation with other professional services, internal and external, delivering training and participation with on going and future research projects. You will also be expected to contribute to the day-to-day operations of the service, working closely with your colleagues.
You will have substantial experience of delivering short term, evidence based interventions, on an individual and group basis ; experience of casework management relating to students with complex needs; experience of working with a range of clinical and nonclinical presentations. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills; the capacity to successfully manage projects designed to promote positive emotional health and wellbeing; and the ability to work as part of a team.
Student Services comprises Counselling and Mental Health; Disability; Advice and Guidance; Residential Life and Wellbeing Serviceand Funding Advice services. The post holder will contribute to the strategic development of the whole Department whilst working closely with other Professional Services, Academic Departments and community based agencies.
The appointment will be made subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance being obtained.
