The Department of Theology and Religious Studies is looking to recruit a Lecturer in Islamic Studies. The Department at Chester has experts in a range of approaches to the study of theology and religion, but we have a particular strength and focus in religious studies and theology that focuses on the empirical study of religion, faith, belief and spirituality as it is lived and practiced in the contemporary world.
The department is looking to recruit an expert in Islamic Studies to contribute to undergraduate and MA teaching as well as the supervision of doctoral students between January and July 2018.
The appointee to this post should be research active holding a PhD or near completion of a doctoral programme. You will be an excellent teacher and communicator and have a demonstrable capacity to work collaboratively with academic colleagues in the department and those in collaborative partnerships and other external agencies.
