PART-TIME 0.5 FTE, Fixed Term 01/06/2017 – 31/05/2018

The School of Psychological, Social and Behavioural Sciences seeks to appoint a 0.5FTE Lecturer in Criminal Psychology for 12 months. The post holder will contribute to the provision of high quality psychology and criminology teaching and research within the School. You will join a highly regarded, research active and student-centred team of colleagues in delivering our Psychology and Criminology courses.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated lecturer to contribute to teaching, assessment, curriculum development, and recruitment and admissions within Criminal Psychology. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from applicants with experience of teaching quantitative research methods and with course leadership experience. Your teaching approach will be flexible, student-centred and research informed. As the role will also require you to develop and maintain productive relationships with placement providers, employers and other stakeholders, you will need a high level of inter-personal skills, and personal effectiveness to promote a high quality experience for all our stakeholders. You will have a strong commitment to continuing professional development and to inter-professional and international perspectives.

The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences has strong partnerships with employers and placement providers from a range of sectors including Local Authority Social Services, Strategic Health Authorities, NHS Trusts, education, and the independent, voluntary and the private sectors. Applied research activity is an integral part of the Faculty’s business and there is a strong commitment to enabling staff to engage in a wide range of research and scholarship. You will be given opportunities to develop your research interests and be expected to contribute to Faculty’s research profile.

Applicants must have a relevant Master’s degree or a PhD in an appropriate subject and experience of delivering in an educational setting.

Coventry University offers academic support and professional development support and provides the opportunity for staff without a recognised teaching qualification to undertake the PGCE.
