The University of Cambridge Development and Alumni Relations Office is the alumni relations and fundraising arm of the University, responsible for raising major philanthropic gifts and building and sustaining lifelong links between Cambridge and its worldwide community of more than 300,000 alumni and supporters. The Development and Alumni Relations Office (CUDAR) also holds overall responsibility for coordinating University-wide development campaigns and raising funds to support Schools, faculties, departments and other central University institutions. Development and Alumni Relations works closely with Cambridge’s 31 Colleges and its sister office, Cambridge in America, to maximise fundraising from a range of constituencies across the globe.

We are looking for a Fundraising Assistant to support our Fundraisers. Each Fundraising Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to 5-6 Fundraisers. The primary duty is to assist the Fundraisers in managing their portfolios of fundraising relationships and the fundraising campaigns that they direct, requiring extensive use of the Amicus databases (data input, running queries and designing / producing reports) for which appropriate training will be given.

Other key duties will include: diary management, making appointments and organising meetings, taking minutes of meetings, making travel arrangements and administering expense claims.

Applicants should have strong secretarial/administration experience and must have extremely good communication and organisational skills, confident telephone manner and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Excellent computer skills especially knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and database experience together with a proven ability to work as member of a team are also essential.
