We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead the Marketing and Student Recruitment Team in DMU’s Faculty of Business and Law. This is a senior role within the Marketing & Communications Directorate, reporting to the Head of Student Recruitment but also playing a key role on the Faculty’s senior management team. An accomplished marketing professional, you will plan and lead the delivery of the Faculty’s annual marketing and recruitment plan, for Home/EU and international undergraduate and postgraduate markets.
Leading a team, you will work with university colleagues, external agencies and suppliers to produce innovative and engaging marketing campaigns to ensure DMU meets its student recruitment targets in a fiercely competitive market. And, as a member of the broader Marketing & Communications wider leadership team, you will be expected to create the headroom and have the vision to contribute to the Directorate’s overall strategy. Your ability to react to market insight in an agile manner, whilst evaluating complex, multi-channel recruitment campaigns will be a key skill. And, all the while, you will help to develop, maintain and champion the DMU brand, ensuring all marketing collateral produced is of the very highest quality and supports wider campaign objectives.
Educated to degree level, you will be a first-rate communicator and administrator with strong IT skills, a flexible, proactive approach and the ability to multi-task. You will enjoy working in a busy environment to tight deadlines, and you will get satisfaction from leading your team in a fast-paced and agile manner. You won’t necessarily have previous Higher Education experience, but it would be a distinct advantage. Whatever your background, you will have delivered high quality and innovative marketing solutions, and will have experience of working with external media providers and suppliers to deliver campaign results on time and budget. You will be accomplished working with new technologies and new media. You will be a confident leader – cool and calm under pressure – and with the personal credibility and gravitas to have influence at the highest levels of the University. You will have experience of budgets and of managing risk.
